Patrick has been a trial attorney for over 20 years. He specializes in litigation, focusing on commercial litigation and administrative law. Prior to founding his own law firm in 2011, Patrick was a partner in Iowa’s largest law firm. Patrick has represented Fortune 500 companies, small businesses, and individuals in disputes of every size and complexity. Patrick spends a significant amount of time in the courtroom and has successfully represented clients in many jury and non-jury trials. He prides himself on his aggressiveness in litigation and commitment to excellence.
Patrick’s commercial litigation practice includes disputes involving shareholders, partners, and other business relationships; trust and estate litigation; disputes involving sale and financing agreements, non-compete agreements, insurance policies, and commercial construction projects; investment disputes; HOA litigation; and other business issues. Patrick’s administrative law practice includes representing businesses in procurement and bid protest matters and governmental disputes. Patrick also has significant appellate experience, and appears before the Iowa Court of Appeals, the Iowa Supreme Court, and the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Patrick graduated from Drake University with a major in Finance. He obtained his Juris Doctor from Drake University Law School, where he graduated at the top of his class, with Highest Honors, and was Order of the Coif. Patrick is licensed to practice in all state and federal courts in Iowa and in the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals.
